Lots of seamen and personnel from the maritime sector have participated the 5th Bingo Bonanza and Seafarers Expo held at the Association of Maritime Officers and Seamen’s Union (AMOSUP) Convention Hall on September 19, 2019
The said event is conducted annually and supervised by the Seagate Maritime Media, the company behind the Seaway Magazine to cater seafarers and maritime personnel, in line with the celebration of the Maritime Week.
According to Marjerie Cantenza, the project manager of the event said that the initiative is inspired by the massive support given to the company by its stakeholders from the maritime sector.
Participants from the maritime sector, government, and from the sponsors enjoyed five sizzling rounds of Bingo. Lots of prizes were given to bingo players including gadgets and home appliances such as 40 inches Flat TV, portable tablets from Compman, stand fan from CF Sharp, and small fans from the Philippine Ports Authority.
The Specialized Training in Electrical Pneumonic Systems (STEPS Inc.) also offered a free training course to some winners.
Bingo winners also received signature polo shirts from Southeast Institute for Maritime Studies (SIMS), one thousand worth of gift certificates from Duty Free and more cash prices.
Other prices include: traveling luggage, Bluetooth speaker, leg bag, neck pillow, chessboard, playing cards, tactical flashlights, and USB flash drive.
Attendees were also entitled to a free medical check-up from the First Medical Team. They were also oriented from a refresher talk about smart banking and financing from the Philippine National Bank (PNB) and Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI)
Further, the CEO and President of the Seagate Maritime Media, Chief Engineer Ronald Labilles also announced the winners of the first Seaway Magazine Photo Contest. Captain John Lechugas’ Sunset in Malacca Strait photo championed the photo contest, garnering thirty-seven votes from the attendees of the said event.
The event would not have been possible without its sponsors from the Maritime sector which are: DMAN Maritime Review Center, Asian Seafarers Institute, CF Sharp, Southeast Institue for Maritime Studies, Globe Maritime, Compman” and Philippine National Bank
The event also gained massive support from the government sector. Representatives from the Philippine Ports Authority and Home Mutual Development Fund also known as PAG-IBIG, who also oriented the participants on the National Savings program, were also present.
